We unite into one association, whose primary goal today is to prepare active intellectual student community, which in the future will be the basis for the construction of student government in Belarus.
In the late 1980s, student groups, united by the Belarusian national idea, decided to merge into a single union - the Belarusian Students Association (BSA). But after Lukashenko came to power, BSA was deprived of registration and driven underground.
In 2015, a student protest erupted against the introduction of paid retakes at universities. In 2016, activists decided to revive the Belarusian Students Association as the only independent student union in Belarus.
In 2020, BSA supported the national demands: non-recognition of the election, demanding Lukashenko's resignation, and an end to violence. For this, BSA faced arrests and crackdowns, which led to the idea of combining efforts with student initiatives.
